ive been to a few weddings where the invite says 6pm start..... i usually get there at 6:30.... and the weddings i went to there was no cocktail hour... the people we were sitting with were complaining that there was nothing to do or eat until the start time.... and unfortunately the wedding we went to didnt start until 8:30 so we were starving for my wedding, we are having cocktails and appetizers.... on the invite it will say cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., dinner banquet to follow immediately (hopefully people will get there before 8) i'm still considering putting a time on when the dinner starts just to get people there on time
