2-3 months in advance is good, with the rsvp date 4-6 wks before the wedding. It's good to send out invites early so you can get some early responses. If some people decline then you can invite ppl from your B list if you have one. Keep in mind that some people will not rsvp and you will need to call them. What I did for relatives and family friends who do not know English, I wrote a number on the back of the rsvp card, so that when I received them, I knew who it was from (cause sometimes they will put down their Chinese names or I didn't recognize the english names). Also, keep in mind, there will be some guests who reply yes and not show up to the wedding. It happens.
