Who is paying for the wedding? you and FI or the parents? If you and FI, do what you want. My parents wanted to me to elope so to save the entire cost for a house! There really comes a time where you need to put your foot down and do what you want to do. We can't let our parents run our lives, or spend our whole entire lives trying to please them. I know how chinese parents are ....so I am know this will be hard.
