Hi girls, I need some input on whether or not I should change my last name to my FI's. My first name is a direct translation from my Chinese name, so it's not common. In fact, advertisers who don't know me usually address letters to me as "Mr. --" The FI (who is Caucasian) has a normal-sounding American last name. When I put my first name and his last name together, it just sounds WEIRD!! Even hyphenating my last name with his doesn't sound right. For example's sake, how does "Hua Smith" or "Hua Ng-Smith" (not our real names) sound to you? Also, since I'm going into the health field, do I want to take his last name (and get a broader patient base) or keep mine (and most likely, attract a mostly Asian patient base)? What would you do? What are you doing yourself?
